Teaching

A key gap in current mental health professional training in Africa and globally is an orientation to public mental health. This means an orientation to the mental health needs of populations, and the policies, laws and services that are required to meet those needs. Advocacy

Advocacy

Through the development of capacity, research and consultancy, the Centre provides a key resource for advocacy for the inclusion of mental health on health and development policy agendas, both nationally, regionally in Africa and internationally. It also advocates actively for the human rights of people living with mental disorders; and provides evidence for cost-effective interventions that can be used for the development and delivery of services.
