The Alan J Flisher Memorial Lecture is held annually in memory of Prof Flisher who was a pioneer in the field of public mental health in South Africa and a world-renowned scientist, academic, mentor and mental health professional. This year, Prof Catherine Ward will be delivering the lecture. 

Catherine Ward is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Cape Town. She works on violence prevention from the perspective of children’s development and is particularly interested in developing evidence-based approaches that have a wide reach, protect children, boost children’s development and reduce their likelihood of becoming aggressive.
